 As fervidly as I wish poetry had "great audiences", I am grateful that most poets do not rely upon them for inspiration. I cannot think of a more self-motivated category of artists who willingly toil in anonymity than poets.

 I am sad sometimes when I think of tossing my poetry notebook from college. It would be fun to see where my mind was back then

 Poetry is the expression of thoughts, feelings, sensations that are meant to be shared. We write or speak to be read or heard. To give that intangible contact betwixt author and audience meaning. I know I write to expel the pain and joy from myself in order to find more of the same later on. Or I just like to string words together for the heck of it.

I totally get this! Most of my stuff was intentionally destroyed. Ya, I'm pissed, tho, it just me gives more determination to produce more. Hope your weekend was good, luvely lady ...

Sharing ourselves having others accept it/us, is a great gift! Whether it's the release of sadness, happiness, luv ... it's our story to tell. You know, I don't see you as "stringing words together just for the heck of it" ... hope all is well ...
